I'm the Next Big Thing

I'm posting this here, too, in case some of you didn't see it on the my other blog.

Brad Wollack, one of the comedians that works on Chelsea Lately, was doing a live stream on USTREAM. I decided to check it out because he's a funny guy and I wanted to see what he was going to be talking about. I was surprised when I got there because he was filming from the Chelsea Lately "Media Lounge" and almost all of the comedians that work on the show, including Chelsea Handler, were hanging around.

Anyway, while he was streaming, I was able to send IMs that he was able to see. So, I decided to ask for a shout out. I figured, "What the hell, it can't hurt." Well, ask and you shall receive.

Here's the other video I was talking about. I wanted you guys to know what I deal with, so I had my brother sit down for a brief interview.



Obviously, the other to vlogs and this "interview" were done on the same night. Fun fact: I wasn't even dressed, really. I had been in my PJs shortly before I started filming. I put on a decent shirt and a necklace to give the illusion of being presentable. I had on blue sweats and just kind of lucked out that they didn't show in the video. Well, they did once, but that's the magic of editing.

Anyway, I hope you guys got some kind of kick out of that shit show, and I will talk to y'all later.

She's a First-Class Liar, a Constant Forgetter (She's Attractive, but Bitter)

First of all, Whitney Houston's new album is coming out in September, I think. :) Don't hate...Whitney is on her way back!

Secondly, I looked like an ass while cleaning my room today. It was probably 70 degrees in my apartment and I was walking around in shorts, a long-sleeve thermal shirt, a scarf and a hat. I should have taken a picture. The best part is, after about an hour, I had the nerve to wonder why I was so warm. Yeah, that's me.

Third! Catherine Hardwicke is going to direct an updated version of Hamlet. I guess it's going to be set in present day, at a college where Hamlet's father was the president. And, guess who is set to play the indecisive prince...Emile Hirsch. I hope it's good. I really like Hamlet and Emile Hirsch. Apparently, he's the one who suggested it to Hardwicke. The script is being written by Ron Nyswaner who has written and produced some other stuff, but nothing I've seen (or heard of actually). I really do hope it turns out well, it could be a really good movie.

Number 4. The weather here today was crazy. I did some video documenting. I compiled it into one video, but the movie maker program froze and here I am video-less and with a 'Save Project As' tab frozen in the forefront of every page I open...and it'll be that way until I decide restart my computer. But that just take so much effort. Anyhoo, I'll post that video at some point.

Bullet Point #5: I watched a show called 'The Listener' and it might be the one show I watch this summer. But I'll give it a couple of episodes. I'm on the rebound from SVU and My Boys and I think I'm just vulnerable and rushing into new TV show relations. It might not be the best move for me right now.

P.S. Along with Tina Fey, I want to be friends with Chelsea Handler...yes I do. You hear that, Santa?

The Earth Is God's Snow Globe!

Gosh, I love the snow!

Our campus looks so awesome when it snows enough to cover the trees and all that. It's pretty awesome. Brittany, Steven and I walked around the campus. We slid in the streets on the tire tracks and walked to 7-11 (where the clerk was giving me his bedroom eyes) and on the way back we flirted with random guys. It was pretty awesome. We also would stand under trees covered in snow and pull on the branches so the snow would fall on us. It was the best night I've had in a while.

Another quote from the night: "We don't have to be drunk to have fun. We just like to be drunk when we have fun."

I'm heading home for Christmas on Saturday--hopefully the weather stays nice. I'm soooooooooo dreaming of a white Christmas. I hope it happens.

I'm looking forward to Jan-Term so I can take screenwriting again!

Zaida left this morning--it's really sad. We had some good times. But eventually I'm going to make my way down to Hawaii to visit her...and learn how to surf!

I wish I could have gotten more pictures of the rest of campus--my camera was getting snow all over it though and I had already dropped it once, so it was time to put it away.

This post is kind of all over the place. I had something else I wanted to say, but I can't remember. I'll add it later if I remember, I guess.

You're A Trainwreck

You know what I don't understand? Girls who stay with guys who treat them like S.H.I.T. (That's not an acronym, I just wanted to put some emphasis on it and italics just won't do it.) I was out with my aunt and uncle--we were with a guy that my uncle works with and his GF/Friend with benefits/chick on the side, etc. He was a jerk (to her only) the whole night. Dick (we'll call him, because that's what he is) called her a bitch repeatedly, said she was crazy, egged her on--made her feel like crap, basically. If I were in that situation, I would have peaced out. No guy is worth that kind of BS.

People (especially women) have enough issues with self-esteem to sit around and take crap from a guy who, by the way, isn't even physically attractive. So, he really has no reason to be putting anyone else down in the looks dept. That girl just needs to move on. After a while she finally called her brother to come pick her up (smart), but went and sat outside in the cold on the sidewalk (not smart). I've grown up in this neighborhood and I wouldn't sit out there at night--drunk and alone. Sad to say, but she'll probably be back in a couple of days, putting up with the same BS.

I'm getting close to finishing my screenplay. I'm excited. I want to get it done ASAP, so I can spend some time editing it over Christmas break. I also want to work on another story I've been trying to work out in my head, I think it could be fun. I can't wait to be done with this. It'll be the first longer piece of work that I've completed--I've heard it gets easier to complete full-length works once you've completed one. Not that it's ever easy. I still want to write a children's book--I think it'd be fun.

You know what's fun to say? Sheboygan! Every so often (actually pretty frequently) I come across words that are fun to say multiple times in a row. So, have at it, because it's probably one of the better ones I've come across in a while. Though, antithesis is always fun. But, in all honesty, I've said Sheboygan more times today than most people will say...well, ever.

I got a text message today from someone and it was very nice and out of character for this person. I didn't know how to respond. I was polite, however, and sent a text back--but, boy, was it tough.

It's almost Thanksgiving!

I Never Dreamed That I Would Climb Over the Moon in Ecstasy

...But nevertheless, it's there that I'm shortly about to be.

I've been working on my screenplay more lately, it's really nice to be getting things accomplished. In just the short time since the show has been over, I've added about seven or eight pages; I'm just about to 60 pages now. I was thinking that if I write 10 pages (minimum) each week, I'll have it done by early November. Then I can spend the rest of the sememster sprucing it up and getting feedback.

In the time since I last wrote about movies, I have bought more: The Amateurs, Death at a Funeral, Good Burger (I know!), King of California, Martian Child, Savages, She's the Man, There Will Be Blood. That brings my total to 85, plus 3 seasons of Roseanne. However, while I was rearranging my movies, I noticed that I'm missing Georgia Rule. I actually really like that movie, so I'm pretty sad about it. It's kind of a comfort movie, I like to have it on in the background when I'm getting ready for bed or something and it's my movie. I want it back.

I practiced longboarding today. I'm not too horrible at it, I just need to learn how to turn better. I ride with my right foot in front and push with my left, which, apparently, makes me 'goofy-footted'. Fun fact.

I got my frist two paychecks from work today. I love payday. Let me prove it to you with a little scene.

FADE IN:

INT. FICTION CLASS - DAY

Jamika is sitting in her workshop group. The group is talking about the short stories they have just written.

BOY:
So who wants to go first?

GIRL:
Oh, I don't mind. Anyone want to go next?

BOY 2:
Well, my story isn't all the way done yet, but I wouldn't mind going on Wednesday.

JAMIKA:
Ooh!

They look at her expectantly.

JAMIKA (CONT'D):
Tomorrow's payday.

Strange looks all around.

FADE OUT.

The previous scene was based on actual events--names were changed to protect the innocent.

Just a little bit ago, Brittany and I went outside and threw old apples to the street down below. Well, we tried throwing them to the sidewalk across from us first, but they didn't break. So we ran down to get them and then threw them towards the street. The small splat sound had a slight satisfaction to it. I guess we're simple people.

It's just about 2AM...I should go to bed! I don't want to though. I feel I'm wasting time when I sleep. I'm anxious about something. But what? I wish I could say.

Meet Me At The McDonald's Parking Lot

So Today I was bustin a flow--you know, freestylin--like I always do. I was into it. I had the whole crowd's (my brother) attention. It came time for my stunning finale. Finale = Me flopping down on the bed with the attitude of a thug. Anyway, so I had just spit my last line and I hopped into the air and folded my arms simultaneously--everything is going smooth. When it came to the landing, however, as soon as I hit the bed, the box spring came off the railing and the box spring, mattress and I all fell through to the floor.

In light of this event, I have to say that I'm positive Janet's nipple slip wasn't on purpse. I mean, you rehearse and rehearse and you think it's perfect and then the big show comes and there's a wordrobe/prop/set malfunction. Okay, so I hadn't actually rehearsed this performance of mine--I just kind of got the inspiration to rap--but I've been sitting on this bed all summer and it not once gave me reason to believe it was faulty.

Oh well, it was a great show and the new finale may have to be incorporated into future shows--just for the sake of laughs (because me trying to rap isn't funny enough).

I only wish I had been filming this impromptu jam session.

Planned mid-day naps are great. Much better than I remember from my early days in daycare.

I Saw a Bee Today!

The first bee I've seen since the weather has started getting nicer. I hate bees. The one thing I dislike about spring/summertime. How can such a tiny insect make me run for dear life? I'm not even allergic. Its a rather ridiculous, yet halarious, sight to see--Me running frantically from something no one can see unless they're in my immediate surroundings. Haha.
