A friend (shout out to Ashley!) and myself were chatting about what we would categorize as a sport, a skill, both or neither. Here are some of the things we came up with and then a few of my own:
+Bowling: Skill
+Golfing: Skill
+Cheer Leading: Sport (Because they break a sweat. They have to be in relatively good shape and do some dangerous, high flying stunts.)
+Curling: Skill (Though awfully close to being neither.)
+Table Tennis (Ping-Pong): Skill (Because of the wrist action.)
+Basketball: Sport
+Baseball: Sport...though sometimes I'm not completely sure--there's tons of standing around.
+Soccer (Futbol): Both
I'll probably continue to add sports to the list as I figure out the classification for more.

The definition of sport is: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.
So, baseball=not entertaining=not a sport? haha
But, in order to be a sport, you've gotta have skill and physical exertion tied into the mix, for entertainment. So, yes, I'd say cheerleading is a sport. Soccer would be a sport though, not a skill, cuz it has all the key elements in the mix.
What about bobsledding?
